Sidewalk

She tried to scrape up

Some inspiration

Off the sidewalk

where he left her

She tried to salvage

Anything left behind

Something to save

Something to save her.

But she just

Bloodied her hands

Digging deeper into the

Nothing that he left her with.

And her hope evaporated

With the tears that puddled

Around her.

But oh,

How she wished

They would’ve drowned her

For when she finally gained

The strength

To gather her shattered heart,

She picked up her head to see

Exactly where he had left her:

Dead End.
